After a roller coaster of a week, we are beyond thankful that our Grandpa was sent home from the hospital today. I had waited over 11 months to get that hug from him, and being able to drive 4 hours to see him -instead of a 14-hour plane ride from Paris- this week meant so much to me. Our post this Wednesday is going to be short and sweet, just like all 4’11” of Leah is.
While my mom was going back and forth between Omaha and Iowa to be with our Grandpa, Leah would often stay back to watch Libby, their dog. One of those days, my mom came home to a note from Leah updating her on Libby’s current status…
There are so many things about this note that make my heart beam. 5:19 pm. Not poop poop, quite yet. After what was quite a heavy week, Leah’s note was a breath of fresh air. Being around her just gives off that feeling. She has no idea how much joy she brings to every person she meets. Maybe that’s part of the beauty of her. We could all learn a lesson or two from Leah on humility…on being sunshine.
Here’s to turning our minds Upside Down.
